“I will praise You, O Lord, with my whole heart; I will tell of all Your marvelous works. I will be glad and rejoice in You; I will sing praise to Your name, O Most High." Psalm 9: 1,2
Through the roads of remembrance parade the wonders that the Lord does every day in the lives of countless people. Helen smiles with satisfaction because yesterday, as she stood in line to apply for a job, she felt on her shoulders the subtle touch of an elderly lady who said, "Come with me."
She went with her, and when she entered the building, she perceived that the lady had disappeared. Helen searched for her with her eyes but could not find her. At that moment, an elegantly dressed man entered with a briefcase in one hand and several papers in the other. She offered to help him and escorted him to his office. The man asked her, "Are you one of the candidates?" After receiving the affirmative answer, he recommended to those responsible that she be given the job after being interviewed.
To this day, Helen cannot understand what happened, but tears come every time she remembers the incident, and she concludes: “God is wonderful.” That is precisely David's reason for joyfully expressing what we read in today's text.
Gratitude is born in the heart and involves the whole being. It means acknowledging that what we are and what we have comes from God's grace and mercy. However, the feeling of gratitude cannot remain in a corner of the heart; it is necessary to share the blessings. Participating in the mission of communicating divine blessings to others affirms to ourselves trust in God, even if the foundations of the earth we walk on shake from time to time.
Take Action
Make this day a day of sincere gratitude and share the good news with those who relate to you. Sing "I Will Praise You, O Lord!" (if possible, with your family).
