«‘For as the new heavens and the new earth which I will make shall remain before Me,” says the Lord, ‘So shall your descendants and your name remain. And it shall come to pass that from one New Moon to another, and from one Sabbath to another, all flesh shall come to worship before Me,’ says the Lord.» Isaiah 66: 22, 23
I close my eyes and imagine the New Earth. Sin has ended, pain and suffering no longer exist. Death is a defeated enemy. Diseases and existential sorrow have vanished. All has been made new, and as the Sabbath arrives, the redeemed gather to praise God for His creation and His redemption.
The Sabbath is not only a day of rest, but also a sign of divine sovereignty. God is God and there is no other. Centuries ago, in a distant point in the universe, Lucifer attempted to destabilize God’s government, rebelled, and deceived a third of the angels by telling them that God was a dictator, and that he would free them from the power that subjected them to a life of servile obedience.
Lucifer was defeated in heaven, but that spirit of rebellion and disobedience moved to earth and for centuries humanity continued to listen to his evil accusations. However, there was a remnant of faithful children who heeded only God and His written Word. That group was persecuted and mistreated for their faith. At a certain time, they hid in caves to continue keeping the Sabbath as God had commanded them.
But all that is now history. The nightmare of human rebellion came to an end. The redeemed are finally with their Creator, the rupture caused by sin has been overcome. The Lord’s people rejoice in salvation. The new heavens and the new earth remain before the Creator, the redeemed too. And to celebrate the victory of good over evil, “and from one Sabbath to another, all flesh shall come to worship before Me.”
Do you want to be at that wonderful meeting? Will you and your family be among those redeemed?
Take Action
Being faithful to God is worth it because your faithfulness will move others who, because of it, will also want to know Him. And even more so if at the same time you transmit the radiant joy of salvation. Thus, many will come “to worship before Me.” Sing “From Sabbath to Sabbath” (if possible, with your family).
