GOD GIVES VICTORY EVEN WHEN IT SEEMS IMPOSSIBLE

"Then Moses stretched out his hand over the sea; and the Lord caused the sea to go back by a strong east wind all that night, and made the sea into dry land, and the waters were divided." Exodus 14: 21

That moment seemed like the end of a dream. More than two million men, women, children, and the elderly had reached the end of their journey. What could they do? On either side, two impassable mountains stood tall. Behind them, in a destructive spirit, marched an army armed to the teeth; and in front of them, a sea that seemed impossible to cross.

Humanly speaking, there was no way out for the people of Israel. But then something spectacular happened, as we have read in today's text.

“The Lord wrought wonderfully for the salvation of His people. He made a way of escape in the midst of the Red Sea” (Ellen G. White, Christ Triumphant, p. 106). As a result, all the people crossed the sea safely.

The miracle was God’s. However, "Moses stretched out his hand over the sea." This shows us that God expects our involvement in the plans that He executes. Life is full of moments that are like that. Every day you face turbulent circumstances that lead you to the human conclusion that you no longer have options to move forward. You need to cry out to God for superhuman intervention. But action is needed right away. You are the instrument that the Lord will use to solve the problem you face. You—healed from fear, freed from distress, with a heart full of hope and trust in the One who knows no defeat.

Take Action

Do you have problems that overcome you? Calmly, present them to the Lord today. Ask Him for strength and wisdom to do what you can and trust Him "all night" to do the rest.
