CAN YOU BE TRANSFORMED?

"But we all, with unveiled face, beholding as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from glory to glory, just as by the Spirit of the Lord." 2 Corinthians 3: 18

In despair, the man fell to his knees in the darkness of his bedroom and cried out in tears, "Lord, I cannot take it anymore. I do not want to be the way I am. Transform me, please!" Their drama was poignant. His wife had discovered another betrayal on his part and was ready to file for divorce. He loved her and did not want to lose her. It was not the first time he had broken his marital promise, and he knew that his wife was determined to separate.

The question is: Can anyone be transformed into a new creature? Paul's answer is yes, as we read in today's verse. It is a matter of looking at the Lord and allowing ourselves to be transformed by Him. In that text, the word “glory” does not refer to radiance, brightness, or blazing light, but to the disposition of God. Biblically, to reflect the glory of Jesus is to reflect His character. The selfish human being, who lives only according to his preferences, appetites, and passions, becomes altruistic and longs to see the people he loves happy.

Let us reiterate that this transformation is based on looking at God, that is, on knowing Him. It is about the daily contemplation of the Lord, of delving into what His character is like and that, through the Spirit, ours becomes like His. It is not a mystical or romantic act; it is about maintaining a close relationship with Jesus by meditating on the Word and how He manifests Himself in our lives.

There is no crisis that He cannot fix. There is no such thing as a lost case. No matter how warped the character, transformation is a reality if you look to Jesus to know Him and benefit from His transforming power.
