The first promise

«And I will put enmity between you and the woman, and between your seed and her Seed; He shall bruise your head, and you shall bruise His heel.» Genesis 3:15

After they disobeyed God, Adam and Eve felt fear, shame, and guilt. Disobeying God brings unhappiness. They saw things start to go wrong: plants withering and dying, some animals eating other animals.

They cried a lot seeing what their disobedience had caused!

God loved them and wanted to see them back in the garden of Eden. To do this, someone had to die to destroy the evil angel who had lied to them.

Do you know why someone had to die? There was a law that said: disobedience to God causes death. God is not evil. But when we disobey Him, we become friends with the evil angel, Satan. And we cannot be friends with God and Satan at the same time.

Do you know Who offered Himself to die for their disobedience? Jesus! Oh, yes! One day, Adam, Eve, and all those who accepted the sacrifice of Jesus will be able to return to Eden!

Let’s practice!

Write a note or draw a picture for Jesus, thanking Him for the promise that one day we will live in the garden of Eden.
