«Then He brought him outside and said, “Look now toward heaven, and count the stars if you are able to number them.” And He said to him, “So shall your descendants be.”» Genesis 15:5
Abram obeyed God and left his home with his wife, his servants and his animals. He lived in various places.
God made him a promise: he would be the father of a great nation that would love God very much.
Time passed. Abram grew older and older, and he had no children.
One day, God repeated the promise that he would be the father of a great nation. Abram said: “But I don’t even have children!”
It was nighttime. God called Abram out of his tent and showed him the sky. Abram saw lots and lots of blinking stars. Then God told him that his family would have as many people as there are stars in the sky, and that he would have a son, even though he was an old man.
Abram believed in God! Do you also believe in God’s promises? He said that one day we would again live in the garden of Eden!
Let’s practice!
Draw Abram’s family that God promised to him.
