A Dead Man Resurrects

«And when the man was let down and touched the bones of Elisha, he revived and stood on his feet.» 2 Kings 13:21

The prophet Elisha had worked hard for God. He was very sick. Then King Joash went to visit him. He was sad to see this kind-hearted man weak. They talked a lot. Soon the prophet died, and they buried him.

It was the beginning of the year, and during this time Moabite soldiers used to invade the land. A group of friends went to the same place where the prophet Elisha was buried to bury a man. When they saw the Moabite invaders coming, they were frightened. They wanted to escape as quickly as possible, so they quickly threw the man into Elisha’s grave. As soon as he fell and touched Elisha’s bones, he opened his eyes and stood up.

The Bible doesn’t say if he ran from the Moabites with his friends, but I imagine that he, his family and his friends must have been very happy!

Let’s practice!

Unfortunately, in this world we lose people who are dear to us. But Jesus promised that one day He will resurrect them! What a joy!
