«Is anything too hard for the Lord? At the appointed time I will return to you, according to the time of life, and Sarah shall have a son.» Genesis 18:14
Abram and his wife Sarai had their names changed by God. They were now Abraham and Sarah. God just wanted them to remember that He had made a promise to them and would fulfill it.
So, the couple whose hair was already very gray had a baby boy! His name was Isaac.
Imagine your grandparents in their old age having a baby! When God promises something, it doesn’t matter if it seems impossible for us because for Him it is possible.
God’s plan was that Isaac would have children, and these children would have other children, and that a great and special nation would be formed. This new nation would love and worship only the God of heaven. And they would have one mission: to tell the rest of the world about God’s love and His plans to take everyone back to the garden of Eden.
Would they accomplish this mission?
Let’s practice!
Ask mom and dad to help you make a family tree with them, starting with their grandparents all the way to you. Talk with them about what each one was or is like.
