«Believe in the Lord your God, and you shall be established; believe His prophets, and you shall prosper.» 2 Chronicles 20:20
Josaphat was a good king of Judah.
At the end of the reign of the good king Josaphat, a messenger warned that the Ammonites and Moabites wanted to invade Judah. He had strengthened the army and fortified the cities. But he knew that all this would be useless without God’s presence. So, he invited the people, men, women and children, to fast and pray. The Lord told them not to fear, for they would be victorious.
Encouraged, Josaphat and the people worshiped God with loud voices.
The next day, the army went out to battle, called by the king to believe in the Lord and in His prophets, for they would be safe and obtain victory. The king ordered singers to go in front of the army to praise the Lord.
While God was being exalted, He Himself set traps amid the enemy armies who got confused and destroyed themselves.
When Judah’s army arrived on the battlefield, they only saw dead bodies on the ground. God kept His promise!
