A Man Named Ezra

«The hand of our God is upon all those for good who seek Him.» Ezra 8:22

Ezra worked in the palace of the Persian king Artaxerxes. He was a secretary: he wrote about everything that happened in the kingdom. This king also authorized a group to go to Jerusalem. Ezra was the leader of the group.

By the time Ezra was planning his trip, the temple had already been rebuilt. He collected many precious objects to be taken to Jerusalem and looked for men from the tribe of Levi to serve in the temple.

But before the trip, Ezra invited all the Jews to fast and ask God to protect them on the trip. He was ashamed to ask the king for an escort of soldiers to accompany them.

God answered the prayer of Ezra and his group, and they arrived safely in Jerusalem.

Let’s practice!

Have you already asked Jesus to protect you and your family today? If you haven’t, do it now.
