Mordecai Becomes Important in the Kingdom

«For Mordecai the Jew was second to King Ahasuerus, and was great among the Jews and well received by the multitude of his brethren.» Esther 10:3

Mordecai, Esther’s cousin, was a very good man. Esther respected him as her father.

He was honest and truthful. A certain day, he learned that two men were planning to kill the king. He sent a message to the palace and because of him, the king did not die.

Haman, the bad man who wanted to destroy the Jews, was an important representative of the king. But he was a liar and a bad man. After his death, who would be the reliable person to take his place?

The king chose Mordecai, and he became second in the kingdom, below the king.

He went from being a simple stranger and foreigner, to being of great importance in Persia! Do you know why this happened? Because he obeyed God and had the respect of everyone.

Let’s practice!

What do you want to be when you grow up? Pray to God so you can be true, faithful, and honest like Mordecai.
