«I will both lie down in peace, and sleep; for You alone, O Lord, make me dwell in safety. » Psalm 4:8
Are you afraid to sleep alone? Are you afraid of ghosts? Are you afraid to talk to strangers?
Did you know that sometimes it’s very important to feel fear? Yes! For example, if an unknown person approaches you offering something, it’s better to be afraid because you don’t know if this person is good or bad. If you get too close to a cliff, it’s better to feel fear. Fear can be a warning that we are in danger. This kind of fear is good and protects us.
However, there are things we don’t need to be afraid of. You don’t need to be afraid to sleep alone if you have your mom and dad with you. They take care of you. You also don’t need to be afraid of ghosts because they don’t exist.
When you feel unnecessary fear, remember that Jesus takes care of you! He gives you peace, tranquility, and quietude!
Let’s practice!
Every time before you go to sleep, repeat the verse: I will both lie down in peace, and sleep; For You alone, O Lord, make me dwell in safety. Psalm 4:8
