«Weeping may tarry for a night, but joy comes with the morning.» Psalm 30:5 (ESV)
David was a warrior. He participated in many wars. God gave David many victories over his enemies.
David had just received a great deliverance from God. He didn’t tell everyone that he was a perfect and holy, and that was why God had delivered him. He wrote this psalm to praise God because God was good to him, and when David cried out for help, God had answered him.
The day before, David was in anguish. But by morning, he was singing for joy because God had once again taken care of him.
There were times when David didn’t act correctly, and God rebuked him because He loved him and wanted him to be happy. David asked God for forgiveness and was forgiven.
This time, David just wanted to celebrate what God had done! He wanted to praise God, not because he deserved it, but because God is always good!
Let’s practice!
Wouldn’t you like to praise God too? What has He done for you today?
