Surrender Your Way to the Lord

«Commit your way to the LORD; trust in him, and he shall bring it to pass.» Psalm 37:5

During the days of David, merchants used camels as the means of transportation to transport their goods in the desert. The camel had to bend down, then the merchant would put the load on the camel and travel for days until he reached the destination where he would sell his goods.

When David wrote Psalm 37, David must have remembered the merchants rolling their loads on top of the camel. When he says “commit your way to the Lord” it’s as if we are placing our troubles on the Lord. The merchants couldn’t carry their goods on their backs through the desert because they were too heavy.

Sometimes we can’t solve our problems because they are too challenging. Sometimes forgiving isn’t easy, nor is it easy to ask for forgiveness. But if we ask God and trust in Him, he will help us to be more like Jesus in whatever we need.

Let’s practice!

Do you want to be like Jesus? Surrender everything to Jesus, just like the merchants who put their goods on the camels, and trust. What do you want to put on Jesus today?
