A Prayer to Feel Good

«Cast your burden on the Lord and He shall sustain you.» Psalm 55:22

Do you like your friends? It’s nice to play with them, isn’t it? While playing on the playground, has a friend ever been mean to you? Did you feel sad? Did you cry? Did your friend try to hit you?

I don’t know who wrote Psalm 55. Maybe it was David. Maybe it wasn’t. But whoever wrote it was in anguish, running from enemies who wanted to catch up with him and kill him.

The writer of the psalm felt great fear, anguish, despair, and had to hide. I think he also cried.

But he remembered God and asked: “God, please take care of me. Help me to be at peace because You are taking care of me.” And he felt much better.

Let’s practice!

Is there something heavy on your heart? Sadness, fear, or anger? Pray to Jesus, too, and you will feel better. Now draw a happy face.
