«Truly God is good to Israel, to those who are pure in heart.» Psalm 73:1 (ESV)
Asaph was one of the musicians in the temple. He wrote Psalm 73. Asaph kept watching the wicked men. They stole and became rich. They treated others poorly and cursed and were not punished. It seemed that it was more fun to be evil and that nothing bad happened to them. They walked around with their chests puffed out, showing off everything they had. They were proud and arrogant. They didn’t care about God!
One day Asaph thought: “Is it better to be a good person or a bad person?”
Then Asaph went to the house of God and talked with God and understood that these people were making choices that would ultimately bring about their destruction. God loves everyone, and He lets everyone make their own choices. Some make bad choices, and even though the consequences may not appear right away, on the day of Final Judgment they will come.
Asaph praised God because he could trust Him!
Let’s practice!
Remember Asaph whenever you see someone doing something wrong. Pray with your mom to always choose to please God.
