«For the Lord God is a sun and shield.» Psalm 84:11
In the old days, when there was a war, the soldiers used a weapon called shield. The shield was the main form of protection in warfare from the time of the first wars until the advent of firearms.
It was a sheet of metal, leather, or wood covered with the skin or leather of animals, and served to protect the warrior from the blows or arrows of his enemies.
Sometimes shields were carried in the hand to defend the bearer from the strikes of the adversary, while the other hand was free to use a sword or spear.
God is our shield. He protects us against our greatest enemy: Satan. If we are close to Him every day, we don’t need to fear! He is always fighting for us and protecting us.
Let’s practice!
Draw a nice shield and ask for help to write the name JESUS on it.
