A Lamp to My Feet

«Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path.» Psalms 119:105

Imagine that you go out alone on a very dark night. You can’t see anything. You can’t see the path and you can’t see your feet. You don’t know if ahead there is a hole, a cliff, or a river. Would you be afraid? I would!

Now imagine again that you are alone on a very dark night. But you have a very powerful flashlight in your hands. The light of the flashlight is so strong that you can see everything, even the smallest stones on the path; you can see tiny insects. The path you are walking on has a huge hole. But you avoid it. Up ahead there is a deep river, and you don’t know how to swim. You will also avoid the river.

Good thing that now you have a flashlight. This way, you know where you are walking and you won’t fall into a hole, nor into the river.

The Word of God is like that: like a powerful flashlight! It lights up our mind and helps us to know what we should do each day, so that we walk in the way of Jesus until we go to heaven!

Let’s practice!

Draw God’s Word, the Bible, inside a lamp. Pray asking God to help you love God’s Word every day!
