The Builder And The Guard

«Unless the Lord builds the house, they labor in vain who build it; unless the Lord guards the city, the watchman stays awake in vain.» Psalm 127:1

What does a builder do? They build houses, buildings, shops, shopping malls, factories, and so many other buildings. They know the materials and the way to lay the bricks so that the building doesn't get crooked and fall.

You are God’s construction. He created you and knows every bit of your body. He wants you to grow up smart, to love Him, to be kind and to make good choices. But you need to invite God, the builder, to help you! On your own, neither you nor mom or dad can be good.

And the watchmen? What do they do? They watch so that evil people do not steal and do not harm others. God is our watchman who does not sleep. He takes loving care of us so that the greatest enemy, Satan, does not destroy us.

Have you invited Jesus each day to be your builder and your watchman?

Let's practice!

Do you like to play with building blocks? Make a beautiful building.
