«Then they said to one another, “Look, this dreamer is coming!”» Genesis 37:19
Jacob had twelve sons! One of them was named Joseph, and he was his father’s favorite.
This is wrong. All children should be equally special to their parents, right? But Jacob loved Joseph the most and protected him. Once, he gave him a colorful coat. This made his brothers jealous and angry.
Joseph had two dreams. In one, twelve sheaves of wheat were leaning over a bundle in the center. In another dream, the sun, moon and stars were bowing to him.
These dreams only increased the anger of the brothers. They thought that Joseph was trying to boss them around.
One day, Jacob asked Joseph to take food to his brothers, who were herding their flock far away. “Here comes the dreamer,” said his brothers. “Let’s get rid of him!” And they sold Joseph to some merchants who were crossing the desert riding on camels.
Then they lied to their father, saying that a beast had attacked him. Jacob cried very much!
