«Better a patient person than a warrior, one with self-control than one who takes a city.» Proverbs 16:32 (NIV)
Have you ever seen a warrior, a strong and brave man who puts on his clothes and goes to fight against his enemies to protect his city or conquer a territory? Some boys even want to be like strong warriors!
Did you know that there is an enemy stronger than those who want to rob cities? Yes, this enemy is inside you, and it is your will.
I have seen children who don’t know how to control their will. When they are in the supermarket they ask their mom for a candy, and when she says “no,” they throw themselves on the floor and cry, scream and kick.
These children are impatient and have not yet learned to control themselves. Solomon said that he who can control himself is better than the warrior who conquers a city. Remember this.
Let’s practice!
Pray like this: “Dear God, I want to be a warrior who knows how to control himself. Please, help me! In Jesus’ name, amen!”
