«A merry heart does good, like medicine, but a broken spirit dries the bones.» Proverbs 17:22
What does your mom do when you have a fever or a stomachache? She prepares some home-made medicine or gives you some drops from the pharmacy, doesn’t she? The medicine makes the fever or pain go away.
Did you know that when you smile or are happy, your body produces substances that make you healthy? But also, when you are very sad and cry a lot, your body produces substances that can make you sick, with fever and pain.
Solomon had already experienced this, so he said that a cheerful heart is like medicine, but a sad heart makes us sick.
Let’s practice!
Draw a happy face and a sad face. Pray asking Jesus to always keep your heart happy.
