«Then Pharaoh sent and called Joseph, and they brought him quickly out of the dungeon; and he shaved, changed his clothing, and came to Pharaoh.» Genesis 41:14
One day Pharaoh had a very strange dream and could no longer sleep. He was desperate to know what the dream meant. Someone told him that in prison there was a young man named Joseph who had already explained dreams, and what he said came true.
Quickly the king ordered for Joseph to be called. Joseph got well dressed and went to the palace.
The king had dreamed of seven heads of grain that were full-grown and seven that were withered, and of seven strong cows and seven thin ones.
Joseph prayed, asking God for guidance. Then, he and explained to the king that the flourishing heads of grain and the strong cows meant there would be seven years of great abundance. And the seven withered heads of grain and the seven thin cows represented seven years of famine.
The king was impressed by Joseph and appointed him as governor! What an honor! From being a prisoner, Joseph became an important official of the kingdom. It pays to be kind and faithful to God!
Let’s practice!
What is the saddest thing that someone has done against you? Did you cry? Did you pray?
