Treat Your Enemy Well

«If your enemy is hungry, give him bread to eat; and if he is thirsty, give him water to drink.» Proverbs 25:21

Do you have many friends? Do you play with them? Do they treat you well? It’s very nice to have friends, isn’t it? It’s good to have friends in the neighborhood, at school, at church, or wherever you are.

But there are boys and girls who mistreat their little friends. They curse, don’t share their toys, gladly ruin what belongs to others, make fun of their classmates, kick or pinch them.

Nobody likes to be bullied. Children who are rude and mean end up being alone and without friends.

Solomon teaches that we shouldn’t treat people badly just because they treat us badly. If a friend won’t share his toy, you can still share your toy with him. If at school a friend didn’t want to share his snack with you, take him a snack one day.

When we act like this, with love in our hearts, we are teaching others to be polite, kind and loving too.

Let’s practice!

Are you sad because a friend has done you wrong? Pray for him: “Dear God, my friend has made me sad. Help me to treat him well. In Jesus’ name, amen!”
