«Remember now your Creator in the days of your youth, before the difficult days come, and the years draw near when you say, “I have no pleasure in them.”» Ecclesiastes 12:1
Do you say “thank you” every day? Every day someone does nice things for you: your dad or your mom, your grandparents or uncles, your mom’s helper, and other people. Who prepared your lunch? Who washed your clothes? Who bought you toys? Who gave you medicine when you were sick? Who told you stories? Who played with you?
Grateful children are those who don’t forget to say “thank you” when someone does something nice for them.
Solomon wrote that we should not forget the Creator when we are young, because it is during our childhood and youth that we practice being grateful. A child who does not learn to be grateful becomes an ungrateful teenager. An ungrateful teenager becomes an ungrateful young adult. An ungrateful young adult becomes an ungrateful adult. And the adult will become an ungrateful old person.
Be grateful every day for what your heavenly Father has done for you: He created you, He cares for you and He is preparing a beautiful home for you!
Let’s practice!
Ask for help to write a nice sign: “Thank you, Jesus!” Put this poster on the refrigerator or on your bedroom wall.
