«Then Joseph said to his brothers, “I am Joseph; does my father still live?” But his brothers could not answer him, for they were dismayed in his presence.» Genesis 45:3
Joseph was a governor! He wore beautiful clothes, and everyone bowed down before him.
When the seven years of abundance began, Joseph had huge storehouses built to store plenty of food for the years of famine.
After seven years, the years of famine began. The land stopped producing, but wise Joseph had stored enough grain!
The neighboring people in Canaan also ran out of food. So they went down to Egypt to buy some.
Once, a group of men asked to meet with Governor Joseph: they wanted to buy food. When Joseph saw these men, he was stunned! They were his brothers! But they did not recognize him because many years had passed, and Joseph was dressed as an Egyptian.
They knelt before Joseph! Do you remember Joseph’s dreams? They were coming true.
Now what? Would Joseph help his brothers?
Let’s practice!
Draw Joseph dressed as a governor.
