«I will give you the treasures of darkness and hidden riches of secret places, that you may know that I, the Lord, who call you by your name, am the God of Israel.» Isaiah 45:3
Have you ever played treasure hunt? It is a fun game where children are given clues and have to hunt until they find the treasure, which can be a toy or something else they like.
In the old days, kings used to accumulate their treasures, but they were too afraid that someone would steal them. So, they hid them in very dark and safe places. And they could only be touched if the king really needed them.
Many of these treasures remained hidden for a long time, until a warrior would find it. Alexander, a famous conqueror of Persia, found many of these hidden treasures.
The treasures that the kings hid were pots of gold, coins, and other valuables. But God has a treasure far more valuable than that: eternal life! Imagine living forever in a perfect world in the company of Jesus and all the people you love! There is nothing more precious, is there?
Let’s practice!
Ask your mom to play treasure hunt with you.
