Joseph Forgives His Brothers

«But as for you, you meant evil against me; but God meant it for good, in order to bring it about as it is this day, to save many people alive.» Genesis 50:20

Upon seeing his brothers, Joseph was very moved! He went into a room to cry. Then he washed his face and went back to see them again.

Joseph didn’t know if they were still mean or if they had a kind heart. So, he did some tests with them: he called them to eat lunch with him, hid their money in their sacks of food, and even arrested one of them. And he kept paying attention to their conversation and how they reacted.

They left, but after a while they had to go back for more food. Then Joseph told them, “I am Joseph, your brother, whom you sold into slavery.”

Wow, his brothers were terrified! They couldn't believe it! What would Joseph do to them now?

But kind Joseph told them to be calm. He embraced them with tears and said that he forgave them! Then he brought them to live in Egypt and took care of them. Joseph also reunited with his beloved father!

Let’s practice!
