The Wounds Of Jesus

«But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities.» Isaiah 53:5

Do you remember the day you were injured? You fell and your knee got hurt, or you touched your little finger on a hot pan? Maybe you fell off your bike and broke your arm or leg. That really hurts! I think you must have cried a lot.

When Adam and Eve disobeyed God in the Garden of Eden, they had to pay with death. God had explained to them that disobeying God would end that way. But God would not allow them to die forever. Jesus would die in their place.

The prophet Isaiah received a message from God about how Jesus would suffer. The sins of the whole world would be placed on Jesus! Can you imagine what a great weight for Him to carry? It would be as if you had disobeyed your mom and Jesus took the punishment you were supposed to receive.

He would be hurt for all our sins and would suffer greatly. The punishment of all of us would rest on His shoulders. Then, because of all His suffering, one day we would live with Him forever in Heaven.

Jesus has so much love for you!

Let’s practice!

Try filling a sheet of paper with black little balls that represent the sins of all the people you know.
