«Blessed is the man who trusts in the Lord, and whose hope is in the Lord. For he shall be like a tree planted by the waters.» Jeremiah 17:7-8
I really like to look at trees! There are many amazing and beautiful trees, like the pine trees that produce pine nuts, the cherry tree that announces spring is coming in Japan, the trumpet trees and their beautiful and colorful flowers, the desert rose tree, the rubber trees which, in some places, have its trunks turn into living bridges for people to cross rivers.
Some trees are very wide, like the Mexican cypress tree. Others are very tall. Sequoia trees are known for being giants. The tallest and heaviest trees in the world are in their group. Some species have become extinct, but its fossils have been found. Today, the largest tree in the world is a giant sequoia from northern California, in the United States. It is as tall as a 40-story building. That’s very tall indeed, isn’t it?
The Bible says that he who trusts in the Lord is like a tree planted by the river. It is always supplied with water and grows very tall. When the sun is strong, it doesn’t dry up, because its roots are absorbing water from the river. Its leaves turn green, and it produces very sweet fruit.
Let’s practice!
Draw a beautiful tree with its roots drinking water from the river. Put your name on the tree and the name “Jesus” on the river. Pray asking Jesus for you to be like a beautiful tree!
