Jerusalem Was Invaded

«And he also did evil in the sight of the Lord, according to all that Jehoiakim had done.» Jeremiah 52:2

Do you remember that Baruch and Jeremiah warned the king that the king of Babylon would come against Jerusalem, but the king burned the scroll with the messages from God?

After this king, two others came. The last one was named Zedekiah and he did everything that was evil before God.

Almost ten years after he became king, the army of Nebuchadnezzar, king of Babylon, surrounded Jerusalem for almost two years.

Thus, no one was allowed to enter the city or to leave it. When they ran out of food, the people began to starve. The important men of the city opened a hole in the wall and tried to escape, but they were captured. The king was arrested, his sons were killed in front of him, and they left him blind and bound him with chains and took him to Babylon.

Do you know why this happened? Because he and the people had despised the messages from God.

Let’s practice!
