Lying Prophets

«Have you not seen a futile vision, and have you not spoken false divination? You say, “The Lord says,” but I have not spoken.» Ezekiel 13:7

God gives gifts and talents to everyone. To some, He gave the gift of prophecy. A prophet is someone called by God to receive messages from Him and transmit them to others.

You have read here stories of the prophets Samuel, Isaiah, Jeremiah, and now Ezekiel. They were called by God and obeyed Him.

But in the past, there were men and women who were not called by God but wanted to be prophets. So, they began to tell the people what they felt they should tell them. This did not please God. Many spoke lies and hindered the work of the true prophets. Those prophets were used by Satan.

There are still people like that today! We must be careful not to believe these lying prophets.

Let’s practice!

Draw a Bible. Every true prophet only says what is written in God’s Word.
