The Destruction Of Nineveh

«The Lord is slow to anger, but mighty in power, and the guilty he will not hold harmless.» Nahum 1:3

Do you remember the story of Jonah? After the big fish threw him up on the shore, he went to preach to the Ninevites. The people repented.

But time passed and the new generation of Ninevites again followed the wickedness of their ancestors. They were cruel, violent and unjust. God could not allow such evil people who had chosen to hate God to continue practicing wickedness.

Nahum was a prophet. And God gave him messages about the destruction of Nineveh, capital of Assyria, because of the iniquity of its people.

Just like the destruction of Nineveh, one day the world will be destroyed because of its wickedness. But only those who forever have rejected the goodness, love and mercy of God will be destroyed. Those who have chosen to love Him and to be with Him will be saved.

Which group of people would you like to be in when Jesus returns?

Let’s practice!

Repeat the verse: “The Lord is slow to anger, but mighty in power; and the guilty he will not hold harmless” (Nahum 1:3).
