Wounds Made By Friends

«And if someone says to him, “What are these wounds on your hands?” He shall say, “They are wounds with which I was wounded in the house of my friends.”» Zechariah 13:6

The prophet Zechariah received many messages from God about the coming of the Messiah, Jesus Christ. He would come as a baby, grow up and become a man. Then He would begin His work. He would preach and heal the sick, the blind, the lame, the mute and the lepers. Then He would announce His kingdom, in which there would be no suffering, no pain, no death.

Jesus would preach love, goodness and justice to all because all are His children, and He desires to be with everyone in Heaven. However, many people would not accept Him. They would hate Him and hurt Him very much! They would nail Him to a cross by putting huge nails in His hands. Imagine the pain Jesus felt as the soldiers hammered the nails into His hands!

One day, in Heaven, we will all be perfect, but Jesus will have the nail marks in His hands. When we ask what those marks are, He will say: “They are the marks that my friends made when I was with them on earth.”

Let’s practice!

Draw the outline of His hands and make a hole in them. This is how Jesus suffered in your place. Thank Him for that!
