The Baptism Of Jesus

«When He had been baptized, Jesus came up immediately from the water; and behold, the heavens were opened to Him, and He saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove and alighting upon Him.» Matthew 3:16

John the Baptist was a servant of God. He was Jesus’ cousin and did his job preaching to the crowds that the kingdom of God was near, and that people should repent of their sins and be baptized.

So, people were immersed in the Jordan River, baptized by John the Baptist. Baptism is an act that symbolizes that we are sorry for everything we have ever done, and that we accept that the Holy Spirit will always guide our life.

One day, Jesus appeared during a baptism and asked John to baptize Him too. And John baptized Him. As a symbol of the joy God felt, He sent a dove that landed on Jesus and God said: “This is My beloved Son in whom I am well pleased!”

Do you also wish to be baptized one day?

Let’s practice!
