Knocking on Jesus’s Door

«For everyone who asks receives, and he who seeks finds, and to him who knocks, it will be opened.» Matthew 7:8

Have you ever knocked on the door of your friend’s house? Was he home? Did he open the door for you? Were you happy?

Just as we knock on the door of the home of our friends, we can knock on Jesus’s door, too. Do you know how? We knock on His door when we kneel and ask Him for things.

But do you think you can ask Jesus for anything, and suddenly, like magic, what you asked for will appear?

Ah! We must ask God for things that will be good for us and for others.

Do you know what should be the most important thing to ask God? We should ask Him for the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit is also God, just like the Father and Jesus. The Holy Spirit is Who God sends to help us make right choices, to treat others with kindness, to tell others about Jesus.

When we ask God to give us the Holy Spirit, God always hears our prayer. Do you want to have the Holy Spirit with you?

Let’s practice!

Pray: “Dear God, I want to have the Holy Spirit with me! In Jesus’s name, amen!”
