«For I was hungry, and you gave me food; I was thirsty, and you gave me drink; I was a stranger, and you took me in; I was naked, and you clothed me; I was sick, and you visited me; I was in prison, and you came to me.» Matthew 25:35-36
When Jesus comes to take His children, there will be two groups of people: those who will go to Heaven and those who will stay here. To the people on His right hand, He will say: “Welcome, My children! The kingdom is yours! I have been preparing this home for you since I created the world!”
How will Jesus know how to identify who is His and who is not? Today He pays attention when someone who is hungry asks us for something to eat and we are kind. He is watchful when someone has nowhere to sleep and we offer them a place, a mattress. He watches when someone needs clothes or is cold and we give them a coat or a blanket. He knows when someone is sick or in prison and we go to visit them.
Every time we do something good for someone it is as if we are doing it for Jesus.
Let’s practice!
Ask your family to help you find someone who is in need and separate a bag of clothes and food to take to that person.
