«Glory to God in the highest, and on earth Peace, goodwill toward men.» Luke 2:14
An angel had appeared to Mary, telling her that she would have a little baby. He would be called Jesus and would be the Savior of the world.
One day, King Herod ordered all the citizens to go to the town where they were born to give their names. Joseph and Mary were from Bethlehem and rode there on a little donkey.
When they arrived in town, they couldn’t find a hotel to stay for the night. Everything was full! They had to spend the night in a stable, the place where animals are kept. And that’s where Jesus was born! Mary wrapped Him in some cloths and laid Him on the manger where the animals ate.
An angel warned the shepherds, who were tending their flocks, that Jesus had been born and that they would find Him lying on the manger. Suddenly, with the angel, a multitude of angels appeared from Heaven praising God and saying: “Glory to God in the highest!”
They were very shocked, and then they ran to see the baby!
Let’s practice!
Draw the manger where Jesus was placed and repeat the verse: “Glory to God in the highest, and on earth Peace, goodwill toward men” (Luke 2:1).
