How To Keep The Sabbath

«All his adversaries were put to shame; and all the multitude rejoiced for all the glorious things that were done by him.» Luke 13:17

It was Saturday and Jesus was again in a synagogue. Do you like to go to church? Jesus liked it very much. There, He taught people, healed people and talked to God.

Then, a very sick woman approached Jesus. She had not been able to walk properly for 18 years. Her back was very crooked, and she had pain in her body. Jesus healed her! She came out of the synagogue with a straight back, giving glory to God, full of joy!

But the ruler of the synagogue didn’t like this and told the people: “The Sabbath is not a day to be healed! You can only seek healing during the week!”

Jesus then said: “Hey, friend, don’t you let your horse loose to drink water on the Sabbath? People are much more important than animals, and it’s not a sin to heal them on the Sabbath!” The best way to keep the Sabbath is by doing good.

Then those who had criticized Him bowed their heads in shame.

Let’s practice!

Do you have a friend or acquaintance who is sick? Why don’t you visit him on the Sabbath?
