«And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.» John 8:32

When Jesus came to live here on earth, He found that many people were believing in lies. Satan had made up many lies about God, the creation story, Heaven, God’s commandments, and about what was right and what was wrong.

Many believed the lie that the most important thing in life is to have a lot of money. Others believed the lie that God only loves good people. Others believed the lie that to please God you have to give offerings in church, and nothing else.

Others believed the lie that Jesus was not God; that He was just a good teacher. Others believed the lie that Jesus would become their king and destroy all the Romans, and then they wouldn’t suffer anymore.

Then Jesus told them that He was the truth and that all the things He taught were the truth. The things they believed were lies.

We will be completely free only if we believe in Jesus, who is the Truth, and not in Satan, who is the lie.

Let’s practice!

Repeat the verse until you memorize it: “And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free” (John 8:32).
