An Angel Delivers Peter From Prison

«Peter was sleeping, bound with two chains between two soldiers; and the guards before the door were keeping the prison. Now behold, an angel of the Lord stood by him, and a light shone in the prison.» Acts 12:6-7

The enemies of Jesus were angry. King Herod ordered to kill James, a preacher of Jesus, and then he arrested Peter. Four soldiers watched over Peter so that no one would take him away.

Peter’s friends were praying for his release. During the night, Peter was sleeping tied up with two guards when an angel appeared with a very bright light. The angel woke up Peter and said: “Quickly, Peter, get up, put on your sandals and your coat, and come with me.”

Peter’s handcuffs fell from his hands, and he followed the angel. He was still a little sleepy and didn’t understand if this was a dream, a vision, or if it was really happening!

They passed one guard and then another until they reached the street. The guards were asleep and didn’t see anything.

Then the angel left, and Peter went to the house of his friends who were praying for him. God had released Peter from prison so that he could continue to tell others about His love!

Let’s practice!

Draw Peter’s handcuffs that fell on the floor.
