«But he shook off the creature into the fire and suffered no harm.» Acts 28:5
Paul traveled a lot. Sometimes he faced great storms. Once he was traveling along with other prisoners, and the boat got stuck on a sandbank. The captain told everyone to grab some pieces of wood and swim to shore. That place was an island called Malta.
The local inhabitants treated the travelers with great kindness. They lit a fire for them to warm themselves. It was raining and they were wet and cold.
Paul wanted to help and gathered a bunch of sticks to throw in the fire. He threw the sticks into the fire and suddenly a snake that was in the midst of the sticks, trying to escape from the heat of the fire, jumped on Paul’s hand and bit it.
The men were frightened to see the snake hanging from Paul’s hand. They thought he would die! But Paul shook his hand, and the snake went away. His hand didn’t swell up and nothing happened to him.
God took care of his faithful friend!
Let’s practice!
Draw the snake that bit Paul’s hand.
