«But where sin increased, grace increased all the more.» Romans 5:20 (NIV)
The saddest thing in the world happened when Adam and Eve disobeyed God. So many things started happening after that! Do you remember any of them? Death, wars, fights, diseases.
Sin is a terrible thing! God hates sin because it destroys the happiness of His children! Sin also destroys His children, because when they sin, they become evil and they can’t do anything good: they just treat others poorly, they fight, hit, and curse.
To solve the big problem of sin and to end it, there had to be something else much bigger than sin. This thing is called grace. Grace is what Jesus did for us: Adam, Eve, and all of us deserved to die forever because we are all sinners, but God paid this punishment for us and saved us from this eternal death.
We didn’t deserve it, but God gave us the greatest gift, which is eternal life. What a wonderful gift!
Let’s practice!
Do you thank God every day for the wonderful gift of eternal life? Pray, saying: “Dear God, thank you so much for the greatest gift you have given me, eternal life! In Jesus’s name, amen!”
