«He who glories, let him glory in the Lord.» 1 Corinthians 1:31
Have you ever seen a clay or ceramic pot? Do you know how it’s made? Potter is the name of the person who makes clay pots.
The potter takes some clay or clay paste and puts it on a turning machine. While the machine is turning, the potter shapes or molds the pot.
After it’s shaped, the potter makes the pot very smooth to be drawn on or to receive other art. Then it is put out to dry for 10-20 days. After the pots have dried, they are placed in an oven for more than a day to be burned. This makes the pot very hard. It will stay in the closed oven for almost two more days before it’s removed from there.
Some pots are glazed, with a kind of shiny coating that makes them look very pretty. Clay pots are very beautiful, but if they fall on the floor they break!
We are God’s clay pots! Just like the real clay pots, we are weak. But God can do many good things through us. So, whenever you do something good, say: “God did it, not me!” Or say: “To God be the glory!”
Let’s practice!
Draw a clay pot and say: “I am a clay pot and God will do great things through me!”
