«Let this mind be in you which was also in Christ Jesus.» Philippians 2:5
Jesus was God. He could always do all the things He wanted to do. He was perfect and more intelligent, powerful and beautiful than anyone else.
When He came to the world, He could have been born in a little crib made of gold, could have worn the most expensive clothes in the world, could have lived in a beautiful palace, and could have paraded among the people in the finest carriages.
But Jesus came to the world as a poor little baby. He didn’t have a crib when He was born. He was placed in a manger, where the animals ate. His parents lived in a simple house. His father was a carpenter and made furniture. Jesus grew up helping his father in the carpentry shop and his mother with the household chores.
Do you know why Jesus came to the world this way? Because He was humble. He wanted all of us to learn that the most important thing isn’t to have the nicest clothes, the biggest house and the most expensive toys. The most important thing is to be kind to others, to forgive and to treat well the people who treat us poorly.
Let’s practice!
Memorize the verse: “Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus” (Philippians 2:5).
