«I press toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus.» Philippians 3:14
Have you ever won a prize? Were you happy? A prize is a gift that we get when we manage to finish a task or achieve a better result than others in some test.
Athletes train hard to win the prize. Some run hard every day, some swim, some play ball, some race cars. Movie stars also work hard to win the prize.
Do you know what is the best prize that exists? It is to be in Heaven. Everyone can win this prize.
Paul, who had been an enemy of Jesus and now was His friend, and who told His story to many people, also wanted to win this special prize. He didn’t care if they treated him poorly, if they arrested him, or if they beat him. The most important thing for Paul was to be in Heaven.
Do you also want to be in Heaven?
Let’s practice!
Pray: “Dear God, I want the best prize there is: to be in Heaven. Help me to get ready to be there with my family. In Jesus’ name, amen!”
