Children Who Are Faithful

«For if we died with him, we shall also live with him.» 2 Timothy 2:11

In one of his letters to his beloved son Timothy, Paul told him that he had been bound in handcuffs. This had happened because he was talking about Jesus and the devil hated that he did this. Satan had sent people to persecute Paul, to beat him and curse him. And now Timothy would suffer too.

But he should be strong and never be discouraged because Jesus had suffered much more! Do you remember what they did to Jesus? He even left home to live with friends. His brothers called him crazy and were ashamed of him. Then Jesus was betrayed by one of his best friends. He kissed Him to warn the soldiers who wanted to arrest Him. Peter was afraid that they would think he was a friend of Jesus and lied when he was asked: “Are you friends with Jesus?”

In the end, Jesus was crucified and hung with huge nails on a cross.

When we suffer because of our love for Jesus, we should be happy about it.

Let’s practice!

Repeat the verse: “For if we died with Him, we shall also live with Him” (2 Timothy 2:11).
