What Is The Bible For?

«All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness.» 2 Timothy 3:16

Jesus went to the synagogue on Sabbath. There, the Bible was read. At the time of Jesus, it was in the form of scrolls and wasn’t yet finished.

Jesus used the Bible to teach about God. He showed that the Bible came from God. God used people to write not what they wanted to write, but what God told them to write.

The word “Bible” means “books.” It contains 66 books. One part of it tells the story of the people who lived before Jesus, and the other part tells the story of Jesus, of people who lived in his time, and then of people who lived after Him.

In the beginning, some stories were told from father to son. Then they began to be written down. Many men were used by God to write the Bible over many years.

Why was it written? To teach the truth and how to live correctly.

Let’s practice!

Why don’t you make a Bible together with your mom? On each page, you can put the picture of a favorite story. You can make one page each day.
