What Is It?

«Now the manna was like coriander seed and its color like the color of bdellium.» Numbers 11:7

When God delivered the people of Israel from Egypt, they had a long way to go in the desert. But God took care of them in everything. Their sandals did not wear out. They did not experience hunger or thirst, nor did they get cold or hot.

One of the things God prepared for them was a complete food that would keep them strong and fit to walk fast through the desert.

One morning, as soon as the dew was dry, the people saw a small, round thing, like frost on the earth. And they asked: “What is that?” That was the special food from Heaven, which God had sent. The food was called manna, which means what is it?

Each family gathered it and ground it in a hand mill or pounded it in a pestle, then cooked it and made cakes with it. It tasted like a cake kneaded with olive oil. I would very much like to taste this food, wouldn’t you?

Let’s practice!

Draw the manna and thank Jesus for giving you good food every day.
