«And the Lord will make you the head and not the tail.» Deuteronomy 28:13 (ESV)
You are very special! Your brothers and your little friends are very special too! But you are not more important than they are, and they are not more important than you are.
God chose the people of Israel to be a special people. But what did it mean to be special to God? Ah! God wanted them to be the best they could be in everything so that the other nations would look and say, “What a smart people!” “What a caring people!” “Who is the God of these people?” “We want to be like these people!” “We want to know this God and worship Him too!”
So God wouldn’t give the Israelites intelligence, possessions and power so that they could go around in front of the other nations and say, “Look at me here! I have more stuff than you! I’m more important than you!” It was so that they would be kind and show their God to others as well.
Let’s practice!
Ask your mom or dad to help you plan a way to tell your friends about Jesus.
